Clarinet in B-Flat. Three joints: rosewood mouthpiece, brass body joint and brass bell. Simple system key configuration adapted as per Ward's 1855 patent. Mouthpiece with original brass ligature. Brille key on end-pivoted lever at lower end of body joint. All other keys saddle mounted with domed flaps and leather stuffed pads. One key on bell operated by shank/touchpiece on body joint. With mouthpiece cap, which does not fit mouthpiece. Remnants of a paper label on body joint possibly in D. J. Blaikley's hand. Over all length: 672mm., over all length without barrel/mouthpiece complex: 581mm.
