Cornet. Brass tubing with silver plating. Three rotary valves. Socket for music card holder on bell. Two shanks for B-flat and A and two crooks for B-flat and G. Each is stamped with its respective key. The crooks also have floral engravings around the mouthpiece receiver sleeves. Mouthpiece missing. Bell is stamped: C.BOOSE/BOOSEY & SONS/7169/24 & 28 HOLLES St./LONDON.
The dating of this instrument is based on adverts for similar instruments that appeared in the journal 'Musical World' from 1853-1854.
