Bride’s wrap. White gauze with inlay of silver ‘leaves’; ogival shape with a broad decoration of embroidery and a gold strip along one straight side and a narrower band along the curved edge. Embroidered in chain stitch, in yellow, brown, blue, pink, green and black. The motifs consist of tulips, most in yellow and brown, with green leaves and two isolated birds in orange and green. There are three borders: two of black discs with interlocking bands of yellow and pink, and one border of interlocking black discs. The golden border is in purple interlacing discs with larger discoids or intervals in alternating yellow and pink. The broader embroidered border has amulets attached – white metal pendants and sequins and yellow woollen tassels, and green and gold beads spaced at intervals.
