Biniou, bagpipe. Chanter, blow pipe and drone in two joints. Bag, stock and any other drones missing. Boxwood with one ivory ferrule on chanter and pewter ferrules on lower drone joint. String-lapped tenons. Chanter has seven tone holes. Paper label adhered to lower drone joint has in D.J. Blaikley's hand: 33. BLOW PIPE,/DRONE & CHANTER/ (WITHOUT ...G)/FOR BRETON/BAGPIPE OR BIGNON

The biniou is a style of bagpipe particular to Brittany. This is an example of the original 'small' style of biniou, which has now almost completely died out.
