Flute. Boxwood body with nickel silver-plated keys and tuning slide and ivory ferrules and end cap. Six keys, block mounted, pewter plugs. Five joints. String lapped tenons. Head joint ferrule is stamped: PATENT; Tenon on barrel acts as tuning slide and is stamped 4 and 5 at different depths. Barrel is also stamped: 6/POTTER/JOHNSON'S COURT/FLEET STREET/LONDON; Upper joint and lower joint stamped: POTTER/LONDON; Foot joint stamped: PATENT/POTTER/LONDON
