Woven cylindrical basket with lid. The outside of the basket is decorated with a patchwork of diamonds of different primary-coloured fabrics, each bordered by a double row of small white shells sewn on; four of the same shells are stitched into the centre of each diamond in a radial arrangement. This decoration extends two-thirds of the way up the sides of the basket, and is also on the sides and top of the lid. The lid has a small handle on each side, through which is threaded a handle or strap of red material decorated with lines of shells; the handle is attached to the main body of the basket so the lid cannot be completely removed. There is a long fringe of shells hanging from the bottom of the basket with tassels of orange-yellow thread at the bottom of each string. There are five strings of shells hanging from the lid of the basket, too. The inside of the basket is plain.
