The base of a basket made of plaited lontar plam leaf. It has a square base with each lower edge plaited to form a ridge. A plaited strip runs around the bottom of the basket and holds the twisted handles in place. There are red threads tied to one of the handles.

The base of a basket, called a 'oko beni' or a 'oko wini' (wini = seeds) and is used for carrying seeds to the fields for planting.

Collection Information

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
