areca nut cutters

Areca nut cutters consisting of two levers, with the lower attached to the upper by a hinge. The levers each have at the end a decorative metal element representing a parrot with yellow glass 'eyes', and patterns etched onto them. The upper lever has a handle made up of a green-stained bone panel while the upper has a handle made of a white bone panel. These panels are each secured to their respective lever with two rivets. There are three small yellow beads set into the metal and various etchings for decoration. The lower lever has a semi-circular metal attachment with a metal blade along its lower side (15mm thick). The metal here is decorated with circles and yellow gems. The lower lever forms a semi-circular sheath, into which the blade goes. This is also decorated with yellow gems.
