A man's cloth used as a waistband or as a headcloth. Made of silk, it has uniform sized red and green stripes. A chequered pattern of red, green and blue blocks is formed when three different tones of weft faced ikat are used in the centre panel. These give an optical, rippling effect to the pattern. Flanking the ikat panel is a band of white (and some yellow) silk patterning, and includes linked diamonds, 'feather-shaped' bands and a row of white horse motifs. Where the weft stripes are absent there are red and brown stripes.
