Long, rectangular shawl made from tabby-woven cotton, and decorated with blue-black batik on a cream ground. The shorter ends are hemmed. The decoration consists of a centre panel framed by borders on the shorter and longer sides. The panel contains three repeats of a diamond-shaped motif surrounded by four inward-facing birds. The patterns are partially formed of calligraphic designs using Arabic script. The ground is decorated with further script and small scattered floral patterns. The outer border on the shorter sides is decorated with the sisir (comb) design, to resemble a fringe.
