A pair of child's shoes with purple silk upper and round toe decorated in appliqué silk with an animal mask from one of the twelve zodiac signs, possibly a rat, with eyes, ears, nose and green tassels as whiskers. The upper is trimmed with printed black cotton with floral motifs. A flap of pale blue silk is stitched onto ankle as a tail. Padded white cotton sole with three star-shaped designs embroidered in red, green and lilac silk threads. Lined with white cotton.
