Sample demonstrating the second stage in the of manufacture of a Bidri ware jewellery box lid. The lid has been cast in zinc alloy, with two oval depressions in the upper surface for decorative panels to be set into. It has also been filed to smooth the rough edges, coated in copper sulphate to pigment it black, and engraved with a floral pattern.
