ceremonial adornment

One of two ceremonial arm bands from the Xingu peoples of Brazil. The bands are one long twisted piece of brown string, with an ellipse shaped feather decoration in the centre. The feathers are from parrots and hummingbirds. The feathers are attached to the string by twisted plant fibre.
