A full length skin coat, with the skin on the outside and fur on the inside. It seems to have been made from many different types of skin, as the fur on the inside is of different lengths and colours - some black, some white or cream, some curly and some straight. The coat is trimmed in a thick band of a dark cloth and a thin band of white around the neck, cuffs and edges. It has a white cotton tie on the inside. There is a single button underneath the right armpit. The coat has been mended in several places on the outside with patches of different shapes and sizes.
The coat was acquired in Barkhang village. This type of garment is worn by all communities in Humla in the winter. It is the Tibetan 'chuba' but in local Nepali is called 'bakhu'.
