Model of a house , a cubical structure with white walls, highly decorated windows and a doorway with 5 steps. The main features are a hanging casement windows at the rear, and a balcony at one side. The models roof is Double-pitched in light brown wood, with stones weighing down the cross beams, with an open loft space, without walls, for storing firewood etc.
This model is an exact a copy, made by a local craftsman of Mrs. Aris' brother in-law, Michael Aris house in Uchu Naktsang, Paro, Bhutan. Michael Aris occupied this house whilst tutoring the King of Bhutan.
