Thin stick of reed, one of two parts of a boys’ toy, used to shoot pieces of faafa fruit (Pawpaw).
One end of the tubular piece of bamboo (1982.41i) is stuck in the Pawpaw fruit so that a piece of Pawpaw fits the tube exactly. The procedure is repeated with the other side. The thin stick of reed in the tube is then pushed, compressing the air in the tube and forcing the Pawpaw out at high speed. The principle is the same as toy ‘spud guns’.
