Jess composed of a length of plaited thread which is split into two parts, each with loops at the end. The thread is coloured red and yellow. There is also a length of white platted thread, which also has two loops. The loops are about midway down its length, and ends in a tassel. Both lengths of thread are attached to brass loops which are connected by a small band of metal which is covered in a coil of copper alloy.
