Large predominantly yellow silk tubular skirt cloth, sarong. It has a yellow, brown, green and pink chequered pattern in the main field, the 'badan'. Included in the darker stripes (woven as bands) of the patterning are two picks of gold-coloured thread. A wide, vertical panel, called the 'kepala', has a red/brown ground and the chequered patterning is more muted. It is also patterned with gold-coloured stripes alternating with a vertical row of star-like motifs with a line running through them. The gold patterning is worked in continuous supplementary weft using metal-wrapped thread. The warp ends are sewn together by hand. [Textile]
