Kaftan. Rectangular sleeveless kaftan composed of vertical strips of cream silk alternating with strips pf alternately blue and pink silk containing floral motif sin other colours, these latter strips bordered on each side by pink (for the blue strips) or yellow (for the pink strips) ribbon. The cream silk strips are heavily couched in metallic thread at the hem. A strip of similarly embroidred fabric extends from the neck opening down the front of the grament. The sleeves are vertical apertures in the sides edged with a narrow width of fabric of the same type as the pink vertical strips in the main body. At the back the central seam has become undone (or was perhaps not sewn together originally). 57"h x 44"w.
