Spike bowl fiddle, ravanhattha. Two main strings of plaited horsehair, seven wire sympathetic strings. The neck is of bamboo. The resonator is made from a coconut and the soundtableis vellum, tensioned by laces. Cotton and leather carrying strap. Some strings and pegs for sympathetic strings missing. A bow, Horniman Museum number MT563-1998, is probably associated with this instrument. Given by John Levy.
