The Jacques Albert fils woodwind instrument company had a short but productive existence making woodwind instruments at their Brussels base. It was set up around 1920 by Lucien Albert, a member of the distinguished Albert family of woodwind instrument makers (Lucien's grandfather Eugène was the inventor of the Albert system clarinet). In the late 1920s, Lucien's company was employing 30–40 staff and making around 100 instruments per month, supplying both Belgian and British markets. The success, however, was short lived, and in 1939 the company was declared bankrupt.
