Ceremonial stick made by elders from acacia ('itti') wood. It has smooth sides and becomes thicker towards one end. Both of the ends are rounded.
Used by elders from first marriage onwards. Elder must carry stick instead of club (see 1972.121) to his marriage ceremony to show that he comes peacefully. Used afterwards when walking - morans do most of fighting. Stick must never be used as club. vernacular name: SIERE NAROT
