textile (function unknown)

Hand embroidered rectangular linen textile, with a strip of needlepoint lace attached. The fabric is embroidered all-over with a repeating single bloom motif (composed of four petals), using pink cotton thread. It is much faded and has a number of holes. The attached strip of needlepoint lace is worked in linen (?) thread. A narrow band has been sewn onto the back of the fabric at the top. It has attached to it a bundle of cut threads placed at regular intervals, suggesting this fabric was once hung up.
