Octagonal lacquered wooden tea caddy with s-curved sides, an ornate hinged lid with lobed edges, and four dragons' heads applied at the base as feet. The exterior is decorated in panels with gold lacquer painted over black lacquer of landscape with birds, such as peacock, peahen and phoenix. A band of coin alternates with flower motifs on the footrim. There is a continous wheat-like plant running along edge of the lid. The inside of the lid depicts two landscape scenes with peasants holding baskets in symmetry. Both the rims of the lid and the mouth of the box are decorated with a feathery scroll design.
