Axe or sword, dao. Long metal blade of basic triangular shape: single edged curved blade, ridge along the length on one side near the back/top, concave end. Short wooden haft, recessed along half its length, with a small band of plaited cane around the haft where the blade inserted, and a longer bans of narrow strips of cane wound around and crossed over at one point, and then one narrow band of plaited cane: a short polished length of haft at the end. No hair or other decoration.
