Smock. Cut out of straight pieces of material, gathered around the neck and reinforced by the collar of the smock. The sleeve has a large flounce, formed by gathering the sleeve at the elbow. Decorative designs: key stitch (“cheita”), which joins together the pieces of material; geometrical designs embroidered at the elbow, the edge of the flounce and collar; simplified flowers embroidered down the sleeve. The embroidery is black. The characteristic features of this smock are the embroidered puckers at the neck and elbow flounce, which is typical of Transylvanian smocks. (Factory-made cotton thread). Length of back 500mm, length of sleeve 640mm.
