Cheese mould. Round shape, with a handle for lifting. Carved geometric designs - rosettes (composed of six petals with veins like those of leaves). The rosette is surrounded by two circles and zigzag lines. The colour is the natural colour of the wood. (Acacia wood, circle of cherry wood). Diameter 180mm, length 290mm, height 65mm.

An elaborately adorned cheese mould from the village of Vrincio in Romania. Cheese-makers throughout Eastern Europe used such moulds to give their cheeses aesthetically-pleasing crusts.
