Pillow case. Oblong shape, open at one end to introduce pillow, while the ornamented opposite end forms “bottom part of the pillow”. Groups of coloured stripes are horizontally arranged on the lower part of the pillow, while geometrical designs, worked in the loom and hand-picked, are inserted between the stripes. Multicoloured designs against a red background. The rest of the pillow is covered with small black and red stripes. (Homespun hemp threads, purchased white and coloured mercerised cotton). Length 800mm, width 520mm.
Typical of the Fagaras District, where this style of weaving is very common.
