porringer

Porringer with two applied handles decorated in brown, blue and green on a cream ground. The central hollow of the porringer is decorated with groups of straight linear motifs in green running more or less parallel to the sides, getting narrower towards the centre of the dish. The edge of the porringer has a double border of plain brown lines between which are groups of overlapping brown and blue chevrons and other leaf-like motifs in the same colours and also in green. On the inside of this border is a band of similar leaf-like motifs chiefly formed of brown lines and another band of smaller bud-like motifs chiefly in brown with green or blue shadowing.
