Teapot with a flat base and shoulders, short spout, high neck and lid chained to a wide, strap-like handle. The teapot has a smooth copper body decorated with silver relief work around the spout, tip and base, neck and top of the lid. The lid is in the form of a lotus surmounted by a cintamani.
This pot is from Tsang in southern Tibet, this is especially evidenced in the style of the silver work. The shape is just right so as to fit into the mouth of a stove, in order for the tea to be kept warm.
