bowl (containers); bailer

Wooden drinking bowl cut out of one piece of wood, the handle in the form of a ram's head. Painted green, but the paint in places is now nearly worn off. The initials A.E.S. and the date 1539 are cut into the wood. It has a crack which has been riveted.

This is a unique specimen and I have not yet come across anything resembling it in any other collection.
