Turned and carved burlwood tankard with hinged lid and handle on three feet carved in vegetal forms. On the underside is an elaborate swirling painted initial. On the top of the lid is a raised figure of a roaring lion, probably a representation of the royal lion of Norway, with background vegetation indicated with notches. The lid has a vertical thumb lift, and there is a carved rosette on the outside of the hinge pin above the handle.
