This axe or tabar has a gilt copper shaft, the pommel unscrews to reveal a stiletto. It may be late eighteenth century, probably pre 1850. Possibly manufactured in Lahore. The Egerton Catalogue [see ‘publication’s field] Plate XIV has two 'battle axes' (714 and 716) that relate in different ways 15.100.
