Tenor saxhorn, plated brass throughout except for one German silver valve top, which is a replacement. Three rotary valves. Six straight shanks and three circular crooks (primary pitch is E flat). Original silver plated brass mouthpiece with additional shallower mouthpiece in yellow brass with plated rim. Bell decorated with rose, shamrock and thistle design. In case. Stamped: Ad. Sax & Co. Paris. Marked on bell: La Famille Distin. Marked on bell rim: T. Distin, London. The instrument stands in E flat when 14.5.47/91h is employed (actually a detachable mouthpiece receiver). The shanks cannot be used in conjunction with the crooks. 14.5.47/91a is the lower part of the case, 91b the lid.
