Bassoon, ringed maple, ivory bell rim. Fourteen brass keys: on wing, two wing keys and E flat; on butt, F sharp, B flat and C sharp; on long joint, E flat, C sharp (both for left fourth finger) and B natural. Wing flange recessed for rod-axles. Keys are mounted in saddles, except for the low C sharp which is on a rod axle (slightly cranked) mounted on pillars. Most key-shanks are recessed at one end of the saddle. Crook socket bushed, with ornate ferrule. Butt thickened on finger side. Platform and ornate key-guard on long joint. B hole on bell on turned ring. Length overall is 129,8 cm. Length of wing and butt is 88.3 cm. Crook stamped with letter Z; probably original. Stamped: Schaufler Stuttgart (Crown of Wurttemburg and Maltese cross on all four joints).
