Bassoon, maple, brass mounts. Eight brass keys (including F sharp and E flat and two on wing joint), flat, round or spatulate (the wing keys oval), mounted in saddles. Wing probably not original. Overall length is 124.3 cm. Length of wing and butt is 91.5 cm. Some worm holes in wing and butt. Plug at bottom of butt joint is missing. Stamped on butt, long joint and bell: G. Astor & Co. Cornhill, London (unicorn mark).
