Terracotta figurine of horse and rider, Cypriot. It is hand moulded from clay, and covered with white slip. The rider is modelled separately, with facial details – nose, beard, hair lappet, and ear - added. The horse has mane detail, pointed ears, and lumpy eyes. Below the chin is a snake of clay, possibly some form of adornment. It would originally have had more paint decoration than is now visible. The rider’s foot would have been black, and the trousers possibly red. The horse has traces of black and red striped decoration down the right side of the neck.
