Loin string from the Wai Wai people of Guyana. Consisting of a double thread of vegetable fibre string, with a chain of white beads running on it. There are two patches on the string, near each end, made of a quilt of purple and blue beads, and blue and white beads. At the end of each of the bead quilts is a row of yellow and red feathers with vegetable fibre tassels.
