poisoned arrow

Arrow from the Hadza people from Lake Eyasi, Tanzania. The arrow has a long, cylindrical shaft of wood. The arrowhead has a triangular point, sagittate base set into a short detachable foreshaft set in a socket drill - in the main shaft. The arrow head and foreshaft are poisoned and the poison is protected with a leather binding. The arrow is is fletched with four vulture feathers.

Used for hunting large game.
