Pair of bamboo covered spill boxes in cylindrical form with flanged rim and concave base, which is the internode of the section of bamboo, one without cover. Both boxes are decorated with the same image on one side of the exterior with deep carvings depicting three elderly gentlemen playing chess under pine trees, surrounded by incised mountains and clouds. The lid is of carved bamboo with a recessed disc on the top surface.
