Fan, probably for a man, made from a spathe of the betel palm, Areca catechu L. Bell-shaped in outline, curved along its length, with handle of horn and edges of bone. Designs of a deer on the front and a vase with flowers on the reverse burned in with joss sticks. Inscribed. The fan is trimmed around the edges with patterned ribbon. Lgth 1' 4 1/2" Wdth 9".
