Palm leaf umbrella. Framework of concentric rings of cane stitched to strips of cane radiating from the centre, the whole covered outside with whole palm leaf (Palmyra Palm, Borassus flabellifer L.). The handle is made out of a large stout piece of bamboo, but this has become detached from main umbrella hood. The underside of the umbrella is decorated in rings of dyed fabric and differently patterned cane stitching. There is one ring of mica decoration and another of red felt.
