Iron gondola prow. The upper part is a broad blade with the rear edge more sharply curved than the fore, projected at the back into a bracket for attachment to the craft. The slim tapering and curved lower half is decorated with three sets of forward projections, the middle unit of each set with decorative shape the others with plainedges. The ferro curves quite sharply forming a keel under the prow of the boat. Its function is to protect the prow from damage.
