Incense burner made of earthenware, paint, gilt and glaze. Made in the shape of a furoshiki, wrapping cloth for gifts, in blue decorated with red chrysanthemum and green paulownia, with white tendrils. The 'corners' of the cloth represented are formed into a handle over the top of the pot, tied at the apex with a little gilding. The knob of the lid probably also represents a chrysanthemum flower. There are slits in the sides and in the lid for the smoke to emerge. The base, which has four bumps for feet, has a red stamp, with two characters, probably reading 'Satsuma ware'. 130 h x 90 dia.
