Ewer, aftaba, of bidriware, in zinc and silver. Piriform ewer with flat sides rising from a circular stand, lotus petal collar at the base of the neck. Curved handle from shoulder to the hinged domed almond shaped lid. Straight spout with a projecting moulding collar half way along. Decorated with poppy motifs in rectangular panels in a horizontal band round the main body. Further horizontal bands of scrolling poppy motifs executed in aftabi and tarkashi technique, inlaid wire, and partly overliad with silver sheet. The mouldings are partly decorated with chevrons.
