Our entry reads:
Do you like mummies? Aquariums? Are you interested in exploring a whole gallery dedicated to music? The Horniman Museum has all that and a lot more, with 250,000 natural-history specimens, a conservatory, 16 acres of gardens to wander through and 3,700 objects that you can touch and handle.
Out of the top 10, the Horniman is the only museum from the UK and one of only three from Europe – the others are the Deutsches Museum in Munich and the Lego House in Denmark.
The entry goes on to mention our new Colour: The Rainbow Revealed exhibition, opening on 10 February, as a highlight.
Understandably, we are chuffed to bits and have received lots of lovely comments online already.
The list talks about other museums and exhibits that you can touch, play and explore in, such as the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis’ Dinosphere, the underwater Museo Subacuatico de Arte in Mexico and the International Spy Museum in Washington.
Naturally, the Horniman Walrus is already making plans…
I spent all night packing and now I’m ready to take the USA by storm. https://t.co/uhtNKRr1jy
